How SentientOne is organized
Your organization and its workspaces, the roles in each, how an agent goes from Development to Production, where workflows fit, and where to find everything in the app.

Everything in SentientOne sits in four levels: your organization, its workspaces, the agents and workflows in each workspace, and the environments every agent moves through on its way to your customers. This page shows how they fit together and where to find each one in the app. The first time you sign in, a short tour walks through the same ground; play it again any time with Take the tour in the account menu (click your name at the bottom of the left menu).

The organization is your company or team. It holds the credit balance that every one of its workspaces spends from, the people and their organization roles, the card and receipts, usage reports and the audit log. Every account comes with one, named after you, with one workspace called Default; you can be invited to other organizations too.
| Organization role | In short |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including handing the organization over and deleting it. One per organization |
| Admin | Members, invitations, workspaces, billing, usage and the audit log |
| Billing | Billing, usage and the workspaces' monthly credit limits |
| Member | Only the workspaces they're added to, with the role they have there |
Owners and admins are admins of every workspace. See Organizations and workspaces and Credits and billing for an organization.
Workspaces
A workspace is a space in the organization for one team, client or project. It has its own agents (with their knowledge, tools, releases and conversations), workflows, guardrails, datasets, evaluators, alerts, connected apps, LLM keys, its secret API key, its environments and its members. Nothing is shared between workspaces except the organization's credits, and a workspace can have a monthly credit limit so one team can't spend the whole balance.
| Workspace role | In short |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Opens and reads everything in the workspace, changes nothing |
| Editor | Builds and changes agents and workflows, chats with them, and promotes into Staging |
| Admin | Everything an editor does, plus Production, the environments, the members and the workspace's settings |
The switcher at the top of the left menu shows the organization over the open workspace; click it to switch, or to create an organization. Organization owners and admins also create workspaces there. See Roles and permissions and Switch workspaces and create one.
Agents
An agent is your instructions, a model on your own LLM key, the knowledge it answers from and the tools it can use. Try it in the Playground, then put it to work as a website widget, a hosted chat link or through the API, and give it tools from connected apps such as Slack. See Create an agent.
Environments and releases
Every agent moves along the workspace's path of environments, Development → Staging → Production to begin with. You change and test the agent in Development. Promoting it makes a numbered release and puts it in Staging, where you check it; promoting again moves that same release to Production. The widget, chat links and the API answer from Production unless you choose another environment for them, and the Playground uses Development. See How environments and releases work.
Workflows
A workflow chains agents, apps such as Slack or Google Sheets, and checks into steps on a canvas. Start from a template, describe it to Ask AI, or build it block by block. Once published it runs on a schedule, from a webhook or the API, or answers chats. See Workflows overview.
