Versions, rollback and pausing an agent

Every saved change is a version with a diff. Apply an older one to roll back, or pause an agent to stop it answering anywhere.

Versions

Each time you save a change to an agent's tracked settings or its prompt, SentientOne writes a version. The Versions tab lists them with who made the change and when; select one to see a line-by-line diff against the version before it (removed lines in red, added in green).

TrackedNot tracked
Name, description, system prompt, provider, model, temperature, max tokensKnowledge, MCP servers, widget settings, advanced sampling, token prices

Roll back

  1. 1

    Open the Versions tab

Pick the version you want to go back to.

  2. 2

    Choose Apply this version

The agent takes that snapshot's tracked settings. The restore is itself recorded as a new version, so the history only grows and you can undo the rollback the same way.

Active and Paused

The Status field on the Settings tab switches an agent between Active and Paused. A paused agent keeps its settings, knowledge and history, but turns every request away:

ChannelWhat callers get
APIHTTP 403 with code AGENT_INACTIVE: "Agent is inactive and cannot process requests"
WidgetVisitors see "This assistant is offline right now."
WorkflowsAgent steps still run: workflows call their agents with allow_unpublished, so pause the workflow too (Back to draft) if it should stop

For testing, the API's allow_unpublished: true lets a paused agent answer one request from your server. Widget visitors can't use it.

Pausing is the quickest way to take an agent off your website without removing the script tag.
